Protecting Your Rights in Massachusetts Family Law
Whether you need a family lawyer to guide you through the divorce process or to help you bring a new child into your family through adoption, it is important to find an attorney who you trust to protect your rights. At the Massachusetts Law Office of Jerome L. Benson, I have 20 years of experience with domestic relations law, including military family law.
If you have a family law concern in the Fitchburg or Leominster area, call 978-582-4242 or contact me online to find out how I can help with your situation.
Guiding You Through the Massachusetts Family Law System
I believe that it is important to be able to trust your family attorney. When you come to my firm, you will receive my complete attention. Your family law case will never be passed off to a junior lawyer - you will get me.
Every client has unique concerns, and every case is different. I will put my 20 years of experience to work for you to create a strong case and protect your rights in adoption, domestic violence and divorce.
Divorce involves many important decisions, such as property division, child custody, child support and alimony. In addition to the emotional difficulties associated with divorce, financial concerns can also play a role. As a bankruptcy attorney, I will help you find relief from debt if supporting separate households becomes overwhelming.
Military Divorce Representation
As the Chief Director of legal services and Chief of Legal Assistants for the Army Reserves in New England, I have a deep understanding of military law. I served as an active duty Judge Advocate General (JAG) and am currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves. Military spouses throughout Massachusetts come to me for legal guidance regarding divorce.
If you or your spouse is currently in the military, I can answer your questions and help you protect your rights in divorce. Along with the common concerns related to divorce, military members face additional challenges, including:
- Continuing medical care under TriCare after a divorce
- Survivor benefit plan eligibility
- Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) for military pensions
I will help you determine how your divorce will affect these matters and work to protect your rights.
